The Challenge

The McGuire Center is a world-class institution dedicated to the study and conservation of butterflies and moths, and yet awareness of its impact remained limited beyond academic circles.

The center needed a visually captivating and emotionally compelling video to:

• Showcase its contributions to biodiversity and conservation.
• Elevate its reputation as a leading research institution.
• Inspire visitors, citizen scientists, and donors to engage with its mission.

Our Approach

We crafted a video that combined breathtaking visuals and an expert interview to highlight the McGuire Center’s mission and story.

We structured the video to unfold like a journey, engaging viewers emotionally before introducing the McGuire Center as the ‘hero’ protecting Lepidoptera.

The video opens with ethereal shots of butterflies and moths, with an underlying narrative by Director Akito Kawahara, who reflects on their ecological importance. Sweeping aerial views establish the grandeur of the McGuire Center, leading into behind-the-scenes glimpses of scientists, researchers, and visitors interacting with exhibits.

Impact

The McGuire Center has begun using the video on its website and social media channels, as well as incorporating it into donor engagement efforts.

We hope that this video will continue to inspire audiences, foster deeper appreciation for Lepidoptera, and support the center’s mission in conservation and education.
